A ‘Learning With Little Fish’ Edition

Little Fish has watched Mommy’s growing tummy and knows there is a baby on the way. Mom and Dad understand that children handle change best when they know what to expect and why. Little Fish learns how he can help.

As time approaches for expectant parents and in those early months at home, it’s important to provide relationship assurance for your toddler. For example: “I need to feed the baby and put her/him down for a nap. Let’s cuddle up and read a story after baby falls asleep.”

Allow your toddler to help out whenever possible, picking out baby’s pajamas at bedtime or handing you a diaper when changing baby. Ask your toddler to help “you” rather than the baby. Be patient with your toddler. In time, a wonderful relationship will blossom between the siblings!
